Abkhazian State University is 85!

Today in the Abkhazian State University there are festive events celebrating the 85th anniversary of the ASU.

The rector of the ASU, Mr. Aleko Gvaramia, opening the event, expressed gratitude to all those gathered. The range of outstanding graduates and teachers, glorified the name of their home university not only in Abkhazia but abroad.

Rectors and representatives of more than 20 universities of the Russian Federation, as well as the Transdnistria, South Ossetia and the Nagorno-Karabakh have arrived.

The main guest of the event was the rector of Moscow State University Mr. Viktor Sadovnichy.

Vice-President of the “International Fund of Apsny” Maxim Gvindzhia congratulated the rector of ASU Aleko Gvaramia and presented gifts from the fund in the form of computer equipment, which will be used in new, renovated auditoriums of ASU.
