Armenian orthopedist has performed three operations in Abkhazia

Within the framework of our project “Health”, “International Fund Apsny” and ICF “Ashana” invited the leading orthopedist of Armenia to Abkhazia, who performed three complex operations for children diagnosed with cerebral palsy.

The operations were carried out on the basis of the Sukhumi Children's Hospital. This joint work not only helped sick children, but also marked the beginning of the cooperation of our doctors with world-class specialists. “I would like to note the warm atmosphere and professionalism of the Abkhaz doctors,” said the doctor. In turn, the head doctor of the children's hospital, Igor Jopua, thanked his colleague from Armenia for wonderful experience of working together.

These operations are a continuation of the course of treatment that children from Abkhazia underwent in Armenia last year. Nicole Khachaturian, Amir Dzhagaev and Alas Barzania, who were operated, are now undergoing rehabilitation and in the future they will have a chance for an independent life without barriers.

In addition, doctor from Armenia received children with cerebral palsy in the Gudauta rehabilitation center and in the Sukhumi children's clinic. In total, more than 60 children were examined.
