Chkotua: the oppsition parties are against Turkish intervention in Syria

The head of Turkish opposition cautioned the government against its intervention in Syria. A descendant of Abkhazian immigrants “mahadzhyry” from Turkey, member of the board of the “International Fund Apsny” Oktay Chkotua shared his opinion about this topic with Sputnic's correspondent.

Sukhum, 1st of July – Sputnic, Anjelica Benia. Member of the Board of the “International Fund Apsny” Oktay Chkotua supports the position of Kemal Kylychdaroglu, the leader of the main oppositional party, Republican-People of Turkey, who called the Turkish government to reject the plans of possible military intervention in Syrian conflict.

Anti-government protests against the islamization of Turkey and the leader of the opposition said that the intervention in Syria would affect the Turkish people.

As Oktay Chkotua says, the intervention of any nation in Syrian conflict will lead to chaos.

“I think that the position of Kemal Kylychdaroglu is right, I also think that the intervention of foreign nations in the internal conflicts of other nations won’t lead to anything good, if this intervention is not meant to settle the conflict peacefully. In addition, when you are with one side against another, then an intervention like that will lead to a situation like the current one in Syria. Terrorist groups are conquering the state. This tragedy will not be able to be corrected even during the next 100 years” – noted Chkotua.

As he says, Kemal and all opposition parties from the very beginning are against Turkish intervention in the internal affairs of Syria.

“Everything happening in Syria is there business. I didn’t hear the last statements of Kemal Kylychdaroglu, but I know him and I know that from the very beginning he suggested to not intervene in Syrian war and in their internal conflict” – noted Chkotua.

Retraction of Turkey will have a high price not only for foreign but also internal policy, said the leader of the main opposition Republican People's Party of Turkey, Kemal Kilicdaroglu.

"I warn you - do not draw in Turkey in this escapade, it will have a high price not only for foreign but also internal policy. This price won’t be paid by politicians, it’ll be paid by the people” said in an interview with Kılıçdaroğlu Hurriyet on Tuesday

He stressed that the current Turkish government is not entitled to take such important decisions, because it is temporary, and the newly elected Turkish Parliament should form a new Cabinet within 45 days. Turkish opposition leader also called for dialogue with the Syrian government to find a peaceful solution to the armed conflict in the country. Syrian Foreign Minister accused the US of supporting the Syrian terrorists.

Earlier, Turkish media quoted military sources reporting that the Government of Turkey is developing plans for military operations in the border areas of Syria in order to create a buffer zone and to prevent the strengthening of the positions of Syrian Kurds, who in recent weeks have made significant progress in the fight against the terrorist group "Islamic State". On the eve, the National Security Council of Turkey discussed the latest developments in Syria and the additional security measures at the border, at a meeting that lasted four hours.

In Syria, an armed conflict is lasting since March 2011, and according to the UN, more than 220 thousand people have died. Militias belonging to various armed groups are confronting government troops. The most active fighters are extremist groups "Islamic state" and "Dzhabhat Al-Nusra."
