The "International Fund for Apsny" – marks 3 years

Today, on February 12, 2018, an extended press conference on the occasion of the third anniversary of the formation of the “International Fund Apsny” was held.

The final press conference devoted to the fund's activities during the three-year period was held at the Gudou Plaza business center and gathered a number of guests, among which were journalists, representatives of the public, fund's partners, as well as leaders of other public organizations of Abkhazia who had the opportunity to get acquainted with a report on the activities of the fund. Besides, all video and print products of the “International Fund Apsny” were displayed as well as fresh issue of the magazine "Abkhazia – is my Motherland".

The event was opened by a member of the board of the Fund Mr. Guram Amkuab. Then the word for welcome greetings to the audience was given to the President of the "International Fund of Apsny" Mr. Sener Gogua. Secretary General of the Foundation Mrs. Asida Inapshba presented a general report on the work done and familiarized with the fund's ongoing projects. It should be noted that the budget of the "International Fund of Apsny" for three years amounted to 41 110 917 rubles.

Maxim Gvindzhia, Vice-President of the “International Fund Apsny”, acquainted with the international activities of the organization, about projects to develop cooperation with other states and public organizations. Over the reporting period, more than 50 international contacts and more than 40 foreign visits were carried out.

Yulia Gumba, a member of the board of directors, gave a more detailed presentation on the work of the fund in the social sphere, namely, projects in the field of health. Projects on support of rehabilitation centers in Abkhazia, as well as assistance to children diagnosed with cerebrospinal palsy, which became one of the main directions of the work of the fund in the field of health care development.

Many of guests expressed congratulations and gratitude to the “International Fund Apsny” for their assistance and support. Audience was interested in current projects and plans for the future.

Taking this opportunity, the President of the Foundation, Mr. Sener Gogua, also spoke on the widespread speculation in social networks on the topic of deprivation of his Russian citizenship. Sener Gogua confirmed that he was deprived of Russian citizenship because of a mismatch of information about the place of birth in documents submitted for the receipt of Russian citizenship and this is purely technical reason. "There is no point here to look for a political or other reason. Personally, despite the fact that I am deprived of citizenship of Russia, I will continue to work on protecting the national interests of our country and developing friendly relations between Abkhazia and Russia, "said Sener Gogua.
