The State Repatriation Committee was founded 23 years ago.

The State Repatriation Committee was founded 23 years ago. The main goal of the Committee is to return our compatriots living abroad to their historical motherland.

The Repatriation Committee was founded on March, 23, during the Georgian-Abkhaz war by decree of the head of the Supreme Council, Vladislav Ardzinba, who, afterwards, became the first president of the Republic of Abkhazia. Nugzar Ashuba was appointed to the position of the head of the Committee.

The Committee consists of the Fund and various departments.  The core purpose of the Committee is to attract representatives of Abkhaz  Diaspora living abroad to their historical motherland, providing job opportunities and finding solutions for accommodation problems, issuing citizenship, health advocacy  and security  issues, strengthening links between Diaspora and local people, teaching them Abkhaz language etc.

 At some time, our compatriots, living abroad, who was forcefully displaced from their motherland will come back, create families and lighten home fire.
